SUMMARY:Young Musicians Showcase Presents - Miri Izenberg Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Miri Izenberg is a trumpet player and vocalist based in Southern California. She is a rising senior at the Orange County School of the Arts\, where she is a member of the jazz conservatory. She performs as a part of the Ambassador Jazz Orchestra and the Colburn Jazz Workshop\, and leads her own quintet\, which was featured at the 2025 Newport Beach Jazz Festival.   A performer in both jazz and classical groups\, Miri has earned national recognition including a DownBeat Student Music Award for vocal solo performance and multiple honors from the Essentially Ellington Festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center.  She has also played at premier venues including Catalina Jazz Club\, Campus Jax\, and Swing 46. \nStudying trumpet with Willie Murillo and John Reynolds and voice with Lia Booth\, Miri draws inspiration from legendary vocalists like Carmen McRae\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Jazzmeia Horn\, and Cécile McLorin Salvant.
