2026 Jazz Treasure Award: Betty Bryant

LA Jazz Society and LACMA present the 2026 Jazz Treasure Award, honoring Betty Bryant.

Dubbed “Cool Miss B” by her fellow musicians, Bryant has been a staple of the LA jazz scene since 1955, following her start in her hometown of Kansas City. Across 15 critically acclaimed albums, she has built a reputation as one of the few artists equally skilled as a jazz pianist and vocalist. As Peter Kuller of Radio Adelaide put it: “Betty Bryant is absolutely amazing and deserves worldwide recognition. A jazz pianist who also sings or a jazz singer who also plays piano, whatever you prefer she does both with great distinction!”

Join us as we celebrate her legacy, featuring Betty Bryant on piano and vocals, Robert Kyle on sax/flute, Richard Simon on bass, and Kevin Winard on drums, with Jazz America.
