Los Angeles Jazz Society’s Vibe Summit XXI was held Sunday, June 22 at Remo Recreational Center in North Hollywood to a standing room only crowd.  Amazing performances by some of the top vibes players in the country including Lolly Allen, Nick Mancini, Joe Locatelli, Gabriel “Slam” Nobles, Richard Schwagerl, Onaje Murray, Abel Lagrimas, James Szabo, Dana Sudbourgh, Kahlil Sabbagh, Emil Richards, David Olds, Bob Leatherbarrow, Evan O’Shaughnessy, and Garth Rodriguez, who was this year’s Vibe Summit Honoree… performing with his band. A great rhythm section backed up the players  – Dave Mackay, piano; Richard Simon, bass; and Paul Kreibich, drums.
