The Los Angeles Jazz Society was pleased to be recognized October 1st in the Los Angeles City Council chambers recognizing LAJS’s 30th Anniversary. City Councilman Paul Krekorian presented the Jazz Society with a Los Angeles City Resolution, praising the Jazz Society for its jazz education programs and dedication to preserving jazz.

President Flip Manne thanked the Councilman and other Council members who have attended Jazz in Schools concerts and donated money to the program. A special thanks was given to Council President Herb Wesson who had presented all the Jazz in Schools musicians with Certificates of Appreciation at the Musicians Union on September 11th.

LAJS Board members attending the ceremony were President Flip Manne,  Lois Saffian, Rita Zwern. Nancie Gilbert, Elaine Koonse and Terry Lloyd.
