Rita Zwern has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for The Los Angeles Jazz Society for the past fifteen years, becoming Director of the Jazz in Schools Program In 2012.  In that role, Rita selects and schedules the concerts each year and assigns the musicians.  She also provides preparational and post-concert educational materials and communicates regularly with the principals of each school throughout the year.  As do all the members of the Board, she volunteers her time and skills to bring the wonderful world of jazz music to young people of all ages.

Prior to her retirement in 2011, Rita worked in health care administration for UCLA Medical Center for 14 years and then for Kaiser Permanente for 27 years.
